The Wisdom Tooth Extraction Process

Right before the wisdom tooth extraction procedure, we’ll numb your mouth to ensure that you’re comfortable. The process by which the teeth are extracted depends on whether they’re impacted or not. If the teeth are impacted, a small incision may be made to remove them in smaller sections. In other cases when they’re erupted as anticipated, they can be removed using forceps.

Recovery usually takes a few days, with mild swelling and discomfort that can be managed with prescribed or over-the-counter pain relievers, cold compresses, and other at-home remedies. In any case, Dr. Waite and our team will provide you with detailed instructions to follow to ensure a smooth and comfortable recovery!
